Doug Lovell
Doug Lovell  Co-founder and owner, Delta striped bass guide.

Location: Fish First! Albany store.

Areas of expertise: Doug has fished for salmon, trout, and steelhead throughout Northern California, Alaska, Idaho, Montana, Colorado and Wyoming. He has chased dorado, tuna, bonefish, tarpon, trevally and assorted other saltwater species in Mexico, Belize, and Christmas Island. Each year Doug co-hosts trips to Christmas Island and Missouri River in Montana. Above all, Doug is an avid striped bass fisherman and spends a large part of the year at his house, the Delta Bed and Breakfast, on Bethel Island fishing and guiding for striped bass in the Sacramento/San Joaquin Delta.

In addition to being a coast guard certified captain, Doug is an active volunteer with many fishery organizations in Northern California and presently chairs the Bay-Delta Committee of the Northern California Council Federation of Fly Fishers. When not fishing or guiding in the Delta, Doug is busy working at Streamborn, an environmental engineering firm, located next door to the Fish First! Albany store.




Leo Siren
Leo Siren  Co-founder and owner, manager of  Fish First! Albany store. Introductory class instructor, casting instructor, Delta striped bass guide.

Location: Fish First! Albany store

Areas of expertise: Leo has fished for salmon, trout, and steelhead throughout Northern California, Idaho, Wyoming, Montana, and Colorado, but he'll be the first to admit his favorite trout fishing is on California’s own Pit River. Each year he co-hosts fishing travel trips to Christmas Island and Missouri River in Montana. Leo is an avid striped bass fisherman and coast guard licensed captain and spends the winter and spring fishing and guiding in the Sacramento/San Joaquin Delta.

What little free time from the store and striper guiding he has, Leo spends chasing dorado, tuna, bonefish, tarpon, trevally and anything else that swims in the salt from Mexico to Christmas Island.





Bob Woznicki   Retail sales, Fly tying instructor.

Areas of expertise
: Bob brings over 35 years of fly fishing experience to Fish First. With an eye for detail he is an accomplished fly tier and rod builder. Bob has fished throughout United States, Alaska and Canada for trout, steelhead and salmon. His travels in pursuit of saltwater game fish have included such places as the Florida Keys, Bahamas, Mexico, Belize and Christmas Island. “Fly fishing travel has taken me to some of the most beautiful places on our planet from the tropical bonefish flats of the Caribbean to the chalk stream of Southern England, but few places offer the diversity and quality of fly fishing we enjoy right here in Northern California.”

Bob’s two greatest fly fishing passions are dry fly fishing on spring creeks and wading tropical flats for bonefish.





Michael Noble "Mac"   Manager Fish First! Chico store, author WH&WN™ fishing report, introductory class and on-stream clinic instructor, guide staff.

Location: Fish First! Chico store.

Areas of expertise: Mac began flyfishing is 1987 whilie going to college at San Luis Obispo. After moving to Chico he discovered all the fishing the Chico area has to offer and loves to fish lakes with his float tube on Lake Almanor and Davis Lake, and pursue steelhead on the Feather and Trinity Rivers. Mac has fished throughout the United States for both fresh and salt species. An avid fly tier, he spends much of his free time tying the new "hot" fly.

Apart from working at the store, guiding, and fishing in his spare time, Mac enjoys his playing fetch with his dog Pepper, golfing, and a good game of Texas hold-em.
