small stream near Chico area
Perfect for beginning and novice anglers, flyfishers wishing to introduce friends to the sport, or family outings. Small stream fishing is the essence of flyfishing. There’s no better way to get hooked on flyfishing than to watch your fly disappear in the mouth of a hungry trout, and to feel the tug of a fish on your line! During your day on-stream, we will introduce you to the basic aspects of flyfishing: equipment; entomology and fly selection; reading water; safe wading skills; basic dry fly and nymphing techniques; and proper catch and release methods. Most importantly, you will have plenty of time to cast over eager trout and practice your new skills.
