Hogan Brown, member of the Idylwilde fly tying team, works at the Chico FishFirst! store and guides
on the Yuba, Feather, and Lower Sacramento Rivers, and largemouth bass ponds. Hogan specializes in tying
flies for finicky trout and steelhead, and for largemouth bass. In the trout/steelhead class, Hogan will
discuss and demonstrate his approach to fly tying and teach students how to tie a variety of flies developed
for fishing in the Central Valley. Featured flies are: Swingin’ caddis, military mayfly, hangin’ caddis
emerger, and the hangin’ skwala. For the bass class, Hogan will discuss his fishing strategy for
largemouth bass and feature the garage door opener, puff claw-dad, finesse worm, rock climber jig.
