Job Title: Store Manager
Job Location: Fish First ! Chico store
Job Qualifications: General knowledge of flyfishing Northern California. Computer literate. Previous flyfishing retail experience and/or managerial experience required. Fly fishing instructional and/or guiding experience desired, but not necessary. Relocation to Chico area required.
Job Description: Full time position that will include, but not be limited to, the following responsibilities: 1. Manage store Open for business 7 days/week Control inventory through point of sale inventory management system Manage, create, back-up store business documents on computer Update, install computer software Be knowledgeable of current product and industry trends Manage business contacts in Palm Desktop organizer Manage photos in iPhoto Create product preseason orders co-coordinating with Manager of Albany store Create fill-in orders, special orders Merchandise product, create displays, create store/product signage Purchase store supplies Keep store clean, organized, and presentable for business 2. Manage employees Hire, fire employees Schedule employee work hours Prepare Chico store payroll Provide employee training when necessary Manage employee work responsibilities Evaluate employee performance Create incentives for good employee performance Hold monthly shop meeting 3. Fishing Program Coordinator Book students for intro classes, on-stream clinics Book clients for guided trips and fishing travel Manage fishing program schedule and client contacts in Palm Desktop Send pre-trip information to students and clients Create new/update pre-trip handouts for fishing programs Create email and print advertising for fishing program Manage demo gear inventory and rental program Develop new fishing programs Instruct on-stream clinics Guide Chico area fisheries Private casting lesson
Work Schedule: Salary is based on five-day work week. Store business hours are Monday thru Saturday 9am – 6pm, Sunday 11am-4pm.
Pay: The position is a salaried with pay based on work history and experience. Introductory classes, on-stream clinics, and guided trips will be paid on a per job basis. Bonuses paid at the discretion of Fish First !.
